Proofreading and Editing are as important as the writing itself.

I have seen many writers who just write a perfect article and then just forget about it. We know how hard it is to write a 1000–1500 words article, it takes time and energy.

But don’t you think giving an additional ten minutes to have a look at it would be in your favor?

Of course, your write perfectly while keeping in mind everything from grammar to syntax and avoiding plagiarism. But that last revision is so important.

Always go through your writing, and check for errors and I know, you will find something that will need correction.

Editing and Proofreading is altogether different person’s job but giving extra time and attention would help you in saving your money and later, frustration.

Let me tell you a secret :D

I am sure, if you are a writer, you will already be using these two applications.

The first one is Grammarly.

No doubt, one of the best for writers. No matter if you are a beginner or a pro, Grammarly will help you in literally everything.

From pointing-out mistakes to giving vocab suggestions, from detecting plagiarism to even citing resources, it will give you all.

  1. Grammar check
  2. Spelling correction
  3. Vocabulary enhancement
  4. Plagiarism detector
  5. Writing style (genre-related)

The next one is Hemingway Editor.

A cute app giving you results in different colors. It rates your writing and also tells you the tone of your article.

  1. Detect errors through color coding.
  2. Points out sentences
  3. Determine passive voices and adverbs
  4. Mentions hard-to-read sentences
  5. Rates your writing (in numbers)

In my opinion, these two apps should be every writer’s handy tool. Once you are done, just check your article through them. You will not need a proofreader.

I write a whole article in a word document and then pass it through both of them. It hardly takes 10–15 mins to correct mistakes, if there are any. You can also write in these applications by opening a new document. I prefer writing separately and then check for errors. Whatever suits you :)

Which onedo you prefer? Share your thoughts!
